New top trim level for the latest ŠKODA model references the brand’s rally history
› Sporty lifestyle version with black MONTE CARLO features and even more comprehensive equipment
› Presentation in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), market launch in the fourth quarter of 2019

Mladá Boleslav, 5 September 2019 – The ŠKODA tradition of offering a sporty, lifestyle-oriented MONTE CARLO trim level will also be extended to the new KAMIQ city SUV. The latest ŠKODA SUV model uses dynamic, black MONTE CARLO features to evoke the brand’s successful rally history and also features an upgraded level of equipment. The ŠKODA KAMIQ is the Czech brand’s second SUV to come in a sporty MONTE CARLO version, the first having been the ŠKODA YETI. The ŠKODA KAMIQ MONTE CARLO will make its debut together with the ŠKODA SCALA MONTE CARLO from 10 to 22 September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new top trim level for the KAMIQ can be combined with all the engines available for the model series. Deliveries will start in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Oliver Stefani, Head of ŠKODA Design, says: “The new ŠKODA KAMIQ is a typical ŠKODA SUV that develops its own distinctive personality through design elements like the split headlights. The black MONTE CARLO features emphasise this independent character and make it an even more attractive proposition for a younger target group. What you have here is a perfect combination of a sporty design referencing our successful rally vehicles and the everyday usability of a smart city SUV.”

The new ŠKODA KAMIQ is the second SUV in the brand’s history to come with a sporty MONTE CARLO version, having been preceded by the ŠKODA YETI. The MONTE CARLO name is used to identify the sporty lifestyle versions of ŠKODA’s compact models. It evokes the splendour and glamour of the Principality of Monaco as well as the storied motor racing history of the Monte Carlo Rally, an event that dates back to 1911 and has seen many ŠKODA successes over the years. The manufacturer’s first model to bear the MONTE CARLO name was a 1936 limited edition of the ŠKODA POPULAR. The FABIA MONTE CARLO will now be joined by the KAMIQ and SCALA MONTE CARLO versions, expanding the range of popular lifestyle trim levels for ŠKODA’s compact models. What all three models have in common are sporty, black MONTE CARLO features and upgraded equipment.

Black MONTE CARLO features communicate sportiness
In addition to the characteristic split full-LED headlights, the ŠKODA KAMIQ MONTE CARLO comes with a glossy black frame surrounding the ŠKODA grille, for a dynamic and distinctive appearance. The black detailing also extends to parts of the front bumper, the wing mirror caps, roof rails, side sills and the centrally positioned ŠKODA lettering on the tailgate. The ŠKODA KAMIQ MONTE CARLO is available with the full range of KAMIQ engines and features black 17-inch alloy wheels with a MONTE CARLO design as standard; 18-inch alloys are available as an option. The trim level includes SunSet tinted side windows and a panoramic roof. A black rear diffuser, black model designations and full-LED tail lights round off the sporty appearance of the new KAMIQ range-topper, which can also be identified by a special badge.

Dynamic interior accents
The interior of the ŠKODA KAMIQ MONTE CARLO welcomes the driver and front passenger with height-adjustable sports seats featuring a specific MONTE CARLO design and integrated headrests. The multifunction sports steering wheel is covered in perforated leather bearing the same red decorative seams as the leather finish for the gear selector and handbrake lever. The LED ambient lighting also comes in red and illuminates the centre console, door storage compartments, door handles and footwells. The KAMIQ MONTE CARLO also includes LED reading lights. The decorative trims and instrument panel have their own standalone design, with the air vents in the dashboard sporting a chrome look and the pedal trim featuring an aluminium design. Special floor mats, KAMIQ lettering on the door sills and a black roof lining complete the interior.

Industry insiders and the general public alike will be able to experience the new ŠKODA KAMIQ MONTE CARLO for the first time from 10 to 22 September at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, Stand A11 in Hall 3.0. Market launch will start in the fourth quarter of 2019.

› Trade visitors from around the world can see the KLEMENT up close at BFO Mobility’s stand
› ŠKODA’s innovative and fully electric two-wheeler concept combines simple handling, the latest technology and purist design
› Electric drive with integrated 4 kW hub motor and two 1,250 Wh lithium-ion batteries
› Front hydraulic brake with ABS and new lighting concept for maximum safety

Mladá Boleslav/Friedrichshafen, 30 August 2019 – ŠKODA is making its first appearance at the international bike trade fair EUROBIKE, which takes place from 4 to 7 September in Friedrichshafen. All eyes will be on the innovative mobility concept KLEMENT, which the carmaker’s partner BFO Mobility is showcasing at its booth. ŠKODA is creating a bridge between EUROBIKE and the beginnings of its own corporate history: 124 years ago, the company began producing bicycles under its founders Václav Laurin and Václav Klement.

This is the first year ŠKODA will be taking part in the global bike trade fair EUROBIKE, presenting its electric two-wheeler concept for sustainable micromobility in the city – the KLEMENT. The car manufacturer is demonstrating its innovativeness as well as sensitivity to current mobility trends and demands. In developing the KLEMENT, ŠKODA brought the specialists at BFO Mobility on board. The result is a completely new kind of vehicle, combining elements of a pedelec and scooter. At the EUROBIKE (4 to 7 September), the KLEMENT crossover will be presented at the BFO booth in Hall A1.

The KLEMENT performs best in heavy city traffic thanks to its agility, making the daily commute a breeze. The all-electric two-wheeler concept has a futuristic aluminium frame; the wheel suspensions make use of single-sided swing arms. The mobility concept has no visible levers or cables, and the rider’s feet rest on fixed pedals located where e-bikes ordinarily have a bottom bracket. Riders accelerate and brake the KLEMENT just like they would popular hoverboards – by tilting the foot pedals. If the users shift their weight forward on the pedal, the KLEMENT’s hub motor accelerates. If the pedals pivot backwards, a hydraulic disc brake at the front equipped with ABS is activated, as is regenerative braking at the rear wheel.

The wheel hub motor on the rear wheel has an output of up to 4 kW and accelerates the bike to a maximum speed of 45 km/h. The two lithium-ion batteries, each featuring 52 cells, have a total capacity of 1,250 Wh – providing a range of up to 62 km. These batteries can be easily removed and charged using a household plug socket; they can also be recharged while riding thanks to brake energy recuperation. With a target weight of approximately 25 kg, the KLEMENT is easy to manoeuvre at all times.

EUROBIKE is the world’s most important bicycle trade fair. This is where innovations are presented and new trends emerge. The fair takes place in Friedrichshafen and opens its halls to trade visitors this year from 4 to 6 September and the general public on 7 September.

The ŠKODA SCALA’s advanced driver assistance and safety features make it an ideal partner for the emergency services. The brand also offers a ‘one-stop shop’ for blue-light fleets that includes full vehicle conversion, which sees the generous interior – with a vast 467 litre boot (extendable to 1,410 litres with rear seats folded down) – able to fit both passengers and equipment, comfortably.

The new SCALA is one of the safest cars in its segment and has achieved the full five-star Euro NCAP safety rating giving added peace of mind for both driver and passengers on emergency high-speed call outs. Designed with a range of driver assistance systems the SCALA includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Assist with City Emergency Brake and Lane Assist.

The compact car also features Side Assist that detects vehicles approaching from behind or that are in the car’s blind spot. While the existing Blind Spot Detect has a range of up to 20m, Side Assist can detect vehicles up to 70m away, which makes motorway and dual carriageway driving far safer. Rear Traffic Alert is also an integral part of the system, which acts to warn the driver about objects moving behind the vehicle when reversing.

When fully converted the SCALA features 360-degree visibility thanks to powerful LED signal lights built into the front screen, grille, tailgate and number plate – all complemented by a 100-amp three tone siren.

Henry Williams, Head of fleet, ŠKODA UK, said: “Our partnership with emergency services teams stretches back over a century. It’s that extensive knowledge in the sector that makes ŠKODA a reliable partner for both technologically advanced cars and value for money, and SCALA, our most connected car to date, more than fits the bill.”

The SCALA is available with three engine options (two petrol and one diesel) with power outputs ranging from 115PS to 150PS. The petrol range consists of one 1.0 TSI unit with 115PS and a 1.5 TSI engine with 150PS. A third petrol unit developing 95PS will be added to the line-up later this year. The SCALA’s diesel option is a 1.6 TDI unit that generates 115PS. All engines, with the exception of the 1.0 TSI 95PS are available with an optional seven-speed DSG transmission.

ŠKODA has introduced a ‘one-stop’ shop package for emergency services fleets, which allows vehicles to be Outright Purchased or financed through Volkswagen Financial Services. Fleet managers now have the additional option of contract hire for added flexibility and value-for money or they can opt for a cost-effective leasing package.

Alongside hassle-free finance solutions, ŠKODA fleet can provide the vehicles fully converted to suit specific requirements, and fleet managers have the peace of mind that the conversion, breakdown recovery, service, maintenance and repair requirements are built into one package.

Free Citymove app calculates the best route, enables different means of transport to be booked and helps to find parking spaces in Prague
› As stated by ŠKODA AUTO CDO Andre Wehner, multimodal city app demonstrates the brand’s continuous evolution from a car manufacturer into a Simply Clever company for the best mobility solutions

Mladá Boleslav / Prague, 19 August 2019 – Congested roads and full car parks – these days, anyone wishing to drive into Prague’s city centre must be prepared for traffic jams and long waiting times. The new Citymove app– developed by ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab – helps users to decide whether it is worth leaving their car at home. Using Citymove, a clever mix of mobility options is possible: busses, trams, the metro, rental bikes, taxis and ride-hailing cars. Users can now select, book and pay for suitable means of transport that offer the best route – all using their fingertip.

Following a successful pilot phase, the app developed by ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab is now available for Prague free of charge. For its launch, it consolidates the mobility services offered by Prague’s transport association DPP – metro, bus, tram and ferry – ‘Freebike’ e-bike sharing as well as the ride-hailing service ‘Liftago’. ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab is working on integrating other services, such as car parking recommendations. As soon as the user has entered the start and destination of their journey, Citymove calculates the best route and suggests suitable means of transport.

Andre Wehner, Chief Digital Officer at ŠKODA AUTO, embraces the launch of this new intermodal app, saying, “ŠKODA AUTO is consistently adding to its range of clever, new mobility services. Citymove enables many people to choose the best transport option for every single route in the city. This is a first. Users of the app literally hold the city’s wide range of mobility options in their hands.”

Jarmila Plachá, Head of ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab, added, “Our Citymove app consolidates numerous services into one application, thereby making urban life easier and more enjoyable. And that’s only the beginning – over the coming months, other tailor-made services will be added.”

Following a free download, available for Android and iOS, the user just has to set up an account to book any of the services. E-bikes are paid for directly using the credit card details saved in the account, taxi rides are settled in the car and the text message tickets for urban traffic will be included in the phone bill.

The new Citymove app also promises easy and efficient parking in Prague’s city centre. From now on, drivers can use it to find parking spaces and zones, as well as pay their parking fees by credit card via their phone.

The launch of the urban mobility app Citymove sees ŠKODA AUTO position itself even more distinctly as a provider of integral mobility services – also allowing people who do not own a ŠKODA to benefit from the services that make customers’ lives easier and more enjoyable. Interconnected mobility as well as clever solutions for the first and last mile play an essential role in this. And, as always, the brand places the greatest importance on both the degree of utility for the user’s personal lifestyle and reducing the environmental impact.

› MONTE CARLO trim level pays homage to the successful ŠKODA motor racing history
› Sporty accessories and black design elements have defined lifestyle versions since 2011
› Top trim level for SCALA and KAMIQ to debut at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show in September

Mladá Boleslav, 1 August 2019 – Monte Carlo, the glamorous urban district of the Principality of Monaco, is synonymous with lifestyle, elegance and motor racing. ŠKODA has claimed some of the greatest victories in its motor racing history at the famous Monte Carlo Rally. As far back as 1936, the company released a limited edition of 70 vehicles bearing the MONTE CARLO name. Since 2011, select ŠKODA models with a particularly sporty design and numerous black elements have commemorated this tradition, which is now continued by the SCALA MONTE CARLO and the KAMIQ MONTE CARLO. Both vehicles will be premiered at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Monte Carlo Rally and ŠKODA have a long-standing association stretching back over a hundred years. As early as 1912, when the Monte Carlo Rally was only in its second year, vehicles from Mladá Boleslav were among the competitors. In 1936, ŠKODA POPULAR took second place in its category – marking the start of the MONTE CARLO models. Following this outstanding success, ŠKODA released a limited edition of 70 vehicles that were derived straight from the rally car; they were the first to be given the MONTE CARLO designation.

Exactly 75 years later, ŠKODA revived the celebrated name when it introduced the ŠKODA FABIA MONTE CARLO as the sporty lifestyle version for the second FABIA generation in 2011. Even after the changeover to the third generation, the FABIA MONTE CARLO remains the model series’ dynamic top variant. From 2014 to 2019, the Czech car maker offered the ŠKODA CITIGO, ŠKODA RAPID and ŠKODA RAPID SPACEBACK MONTE CARLO, and the ŠKODA YETI MONTE CARLO was sold from 2015 to 2017.

This success story continues seamlessly with the current-generation FABIA MONTE CARLO, which is now joined by the MONTE CARLO versions of the ŠKODA SCALA and ŠKODA KAMIQ. These sporty lifestyle variants are named after the Monaco district that has been the home of the Monte Carlo Rally since 1911, with its legendary Sisteron stage, or the drive across the famous Col de Turini. Numerous black elements provide additional sporty accents, making the design appear even more emotive and dynamic. The ŠKODA SCALA MONTE CARLO for example has black detailing in the front apron, while the ŠKODA KAMIQ MONTE CARLO comes with black roof rails. In addition, the new top variants can be identified by a special badge.

The SCALA MONTE CARLO and the KAMIQ MONTE CARLO will be introduced to the public at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show from 10 to 22 September 2019.
